The AI -Enabled Investing Competition is an opportunity for students to develop analysis and models to propose investment recommendations in real-time using AI tools. Participants will receive feedback and coaching from industry leaders using AI in financial services. Students of all experience levels are encouraged to participate (as part of a team or can request team assignment)!

The National Restructuring Case Competition, hosted by UChicago in partnership with the Turnaround Management Association, is an opportunity for students to develop a restructuring recommendation and present to a panel of industry experts — with top teams competing for cash prizes and guaranteed interviews at leading firms. Sponsored by Marblegate Asset Management, Hilco Global, Lazard, Houlihan Lokey, Oaktree Capital Management, and Aegon Asset Management, this competition offers unmatched exposure to the restructuring and distressed investing space. Undergraduate and MBA students of all experience levels are encouraged to participate in teams of 2–3!
All participating students will receive complimentary access to Constellation Finance, an AI-based credit analysis tool, to support them with developing their analysis and recommendation.

The Fixed Income Investment Competition gives students the opportunity to develop and present a comprehensive fixed income investment recommendation. Teams of 3–4 will conduct in-depth analysis, apply qualitative and quantitative research, and communicate their strategy clearly. Participants gain hands-on experience, receive feedback from industry professionals, and deepen their understanding of fixed income markets. Students of all experience levels are encouraged to apply, either with a team or by requesting placement.

Working in teams, students take the role of VCs and hear pitches from real startups. You will assess the investment opportunities and pitch an investment strategy to a panel of judges who are practicing venture capitalists. The winner of the UChicago College event will advance to the February regional event at Columbia University and compete for a chance to participate in the global final in April with a $5,000 prize! Co-hosted by Midway Ventures, this day-long competition is an incredible hands-on opportunity for students interested in VC!

The BGC Finance Strategy Competition will include two sessions: an investment banking deal pitch challenge and an AI in finance challenge. The competition is an ideal opportunity for second-year students actively recruiting for summer 2028 internships and third-year students recruiting for upcoming analyst opportunities.
IB Deal Pitch Challenge
Teams will research, analyze, and pitch a compelling acquisition target in a specified industry to a panel of BGC team members, showcasing their investment banking skills in valuation, strategic rationale, and deal structuring.
AI in Finance Challenge
Teams will analyze financial datasets and build AI models to solve investment challenges - such as portfolio optimization, risk assessment, or trading strategy development - with their solutions presented to a panel of BGC representatives based on accuracy, creativity, and practical impact.

The UChicago First Year Stock Pitch Competition is an opportunity for First Year students to explore public equities investing by constructing a detailed analysis of an investment recommendation! Participants will benefit from preparation workshops, mentorship, and office-hour coaching resources. First Year students of all experience levels are encouraged to participate (as part of a team or request team assignment)!

The Distressed Bond Investment Pitch Competition gives students the opportunity to step directly into the world of credit investing by evaluating a single distressed bond and presenting a targeted investment recommendation to a panel of industry experts. The UChicago Trading Competition is the nation’s premier algorithmic trading competition. The competition features case studies designed to challenge participants in multiple aspects and themes of trading. Participants are asked to develop algorithms to make automated trading decisions, and will have their technical programming skills, financial acumen, and ability to adjust based on algorithm performance tested. The competition is supported by the leading companies in algorithmic trading.

The UChicago Stock Pitch Competition is an opportunity for you to explore public equities investing by constructing a detailed analysis of an investment recommendation. Teams of 3-4 UChicago undergraduate students will analyze and present a stock investment opportunity, demonstrating skills in research, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and ability to effectively communicate their findings.

The Digital Assets Trading Competition is a great opportunity for students to gain practical experience in the digital assets and crypto currency space. Based on portfolio performance, the top three participants will receive cash prizes!

The UChicago Private Equity Deal Pitch Competition is an opportunity for students to explore private equity investments by creating and delivering a deal memo and investment recommendation. Teams of 3-4 UChicago undergraduate students will analyze and present a company of their choice, demonstrating skills in research, financial acumen, and ability to effectively communicate their findings.

External Finance Career Competitions
The Citadel Associate Program, in partnership with the Harvard Financial Analysts Club, invites undergraduate students to participate in a long/short stock pitch competition in New York City. Teams of 2–4 students will develop and present an investment idea to Citadel investors while gaining exposure to the firm’s equities business through investor panels, Q&A sessions, and networking opportunities.
Citadel will cover travel and lodging for all selected teams. The competition will take place October 22–24, 2026, in New York City.
Interested students should indicate their interest by September 18, 2026- here. Eligible applicants will receive instructions for submitting a preliminary investment memo and model.
The NYU Stern ABI Corporate Restructuring Case Competition is an intercollegiate finance competition that brings together students from leading business schools to analyze and present solutions to a corporate restructuring case. Sponsored by the American Bankruptcy Institute, the competition awards the Bettina M. White Trophy and cash prizes of $7,000, $4,000, and $3,000 to the top three teams. The competition will be held in Fall 2026.

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is a global competition in which undergraduate and graduate students research and analyze a publicly traded company from October through February. Students develop a written research report and present their analysis to a panel of judges, ultimately making a buy, sell, or hold recommendation. The competition begins at the local level and progresses through further rounds to a global competition.
There is no cost to participate, and each university may enter up to two teams of 3–5 students. Each team will be assigned a faculty advisor and an industry mentor made up of a finance professional.

The Princeton Stock Pitch is an intercollegiate stock pitch competition open to student investment clubs nationwide. Teams present a single long or short idea on a company with a market cap of $2B+, evaluated over a three-to-five-year holding period. The competition is held virtually and is free to enter.
