National Restructuring Case Competition

The University of Chicago and Turnaround Management Association present our inaugural National Restructuring Case Competition. This is an opportunity for students to develop a restructuring recommendation and present to a panel of industry experts — with top teams competing for cash prizes and guaranteed interviews at leading firms.

Competition Overview
Eligibility: All undergraduate and MBA students (compete individually or in teams of 2-3)
Registration: Registration is now closed
Case materials distributed: August 3 (students can continue to register after this deadline)
Registration deadline (all deadlines at 11:59pm CT):
If registering as a team or individual competitor, register up until September 7
If registering as individual requesting team assignment, register up until August 16
Submission deadline: September 13 at 11:59pm CT
Finalist decisions released: October 2
Competition finals: October 15–16, University of Chicago (Chicago, IL) – travel and accommodation for non-Chicago based students will be covered by our program

Competition Prizes and Recruiting Benefits
Cash prizes for 1st ($5,000), 2nd ($2,500), and 3rd ($1,000) place at both the undergraduate and graduate levels – students will compete against students in their program class (i.e., undergraduate-level finals vs. graduate-level finals)
Class of 2029 undergraduates and Class of 2028 MBA students selected as finalists will be guaranteed a first-round interview with at least one sponsoring firm
Winning team members in those classes will be guaranteed a Superday interview with at least one sponsoring firm
Finalists and winners will receive up to a year of Pari Passu Premium access and free access to a Pari Passu Restructuring Course
All finalists are invited to a networking dinner with sponsoring firms on October 15
Travel and lodging for non-Chicago-based finalists will be fully covered by UChicago
