Trott Business Program
The Trott Business Program is a selective three-year program that prepares UChicago students for a broad range of business careers including investment banking, sales & trading, consulting, and corporate management.
Thanks to the generous support of Byron and Tina Trott and Trott Family Philanthropies, the Trott Business Program has been preparing a community of talented and ambitious students to serve as business leaders and University ambassadors since 2005.
Applications are now closed for the Trott Business Program. Trott Business Program applications for the next cycle are expected to open in December 2026.
Students apply to the Trott Business Program in Winter Quarter of their first year at UChicago. Accepted students participate in programming throughout their second, third, and fourth years.
There is no academic major requirement; however, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to apply. Transfer students and students returning from a leave of absence are also eligible to apply.

Trott Business Program members benefit from a curriculum focused on “four pillars” of student success:
Career exploration: to help students identify roles that align with their interests and strengths
Foundational skills: to empower students with technical knowledge in accounting, finance, and data management as a complement to students’ liberal arts critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Recruiting expertise: to prepare students to for success in the recruiting process and secure outstanding results even in the most competitive job market
Networking events: to connect students top tier employers through signature events such as the Consulting Symposium, Marketing Pathways, and Sophomore Finance Networking Night
During their first year in the program, students participate in a series of specialized trainings and workshops:
“Business core” workshops covering key skills such as Excel, networking, and financial statement analysis along with industry case study exercises
Specialized industry tracks including Banking/Private Equity, Sales & Trading, Consulting, Corporate Strategy & Marketing, Venture Capital, Sports Business, and Real Estate
MBA-level coursework at the Chicago Booth School of Business
Additionally, students gain exposure to employers and alumni through career treks to major business centers such as New York and London.
In their second program year, students focus on personal and professional development with tailored advising, mock technical interviews, and access to key employers and recruiters.
In the final year, program participants have opportunities to take on leadership roles including supporting program workshops and events and mentorship of new Trott Business Program students.
Graduates of the Trott Business Program members secure job and internship opportunities with top firms such as Amazon, Bain & Co., Bank of America, BCG, BDT & MSD Partners, Goldman Sachs, Google, JP Morgan, McKinsey & Co., and Morgan Stanley.
In addition to professional skills training, mentorship, and outstanding recruiting outcomes, graduates of the Trott Business Program join a network of 3000+ program alumni who are emerging as business leaders at the managing director, principal, director, and associate level in investment banking and private equity, management consulting, and corporate organizations.
