Welcome, Class of 2029!

Great Stories Start at UChicago . . . And Now It's Your Turn!

Whether you want to be an adventurous archaeologist or a space-traveling scientist, UChicago Career Advancement is here to help you turn your dreams into reality.

After all, UChicago is where great stories start - just ask any of our alumni, real or fictional!

This summer, you can write the first chapter of your story with Career Advancement's special programs for incoming students.

Fictitious Alumni UChicago

Begin Your Career Journey

Take advantage of these opportunities to explore your interests, meet your new classmates, and get inspired by alumni!

Job Shadowing

The Job Shadowing Program gives UChicago undergraduate students the opportunity to experience a day-in-the-life in an industry of interest by shadowing UChicago alumni, family members, and friends virtually and at their place of work for anywhere from a half-day to a whole week. Students can sign up for the Winter Break Job Shadow cycle starting in September.

Career Treks

Career Treks bring students to cities around the world to meet with industry leaders and alumni. Participating students have the opportunity to expand their professional network, learn more about potential jobs and internships, and find out whether a particular career field matches their interests, skills, and values. More information about Winter Break Trek destinations will be available in September.

Personalized Career Advising

As an incoming student, you’ll be matched with a dedicated career adviser based on your career interests. Your adviser looks forward to introducing themselves over the summer and helping you craft your resume, find career opportunities in your field of interest, and create a personalized roadmap to securing a meaningful opportunity.
