Social Service Career Courses

Build your social service expertise and learn new skills with these noncredit career courses! These programs are open to all interested College students. Career Advancement offers two noncredit career courses each quarter for students exploring social work, behavioral health, and human services. Each course is a practitioner-led deep dive taught during our quarterly Careers in Social Services sessions, open to all College students, and free to attend. Register for career courses on Handshake or through the Careers in Social Services newsletter.

Intro to Applied Behavior Analysis

Learn foundational skills in applied behavior analysis from practitioners working in the field. This course introduces the principles behind behavior assessment and intervention and what day-to-day ABA practice actually looks like, so you can judge whether it is a fit before you commit to the credential path.

Field & Therapeutic Interviewing Clinic

Learn how to approach high-stakes, sensitive interviews in field and therapeutic settings with tact and empathy. This course covers building rapport quickly, asking difficult questions well, and managing your own reactions — skills that transfer directly to case management, intake, and research roles.
