National Security and Public Safety Track

The National Security and Public Safety track supports students who are ambitious about careers focused on security and risk management.

These highly interdisciplinary industries offer careers at the intersection of economics, law, policy, and cutting-edge technology. Opportunities are available with a wide range of employers, including government agencies, think tanks, advanced materials firms, and companies focused on geopolitics and global trade.

Program resources include:

  • Workshops and skill trainings on security careers from industry experts, employers, and faculty.

  • Career trek to locations such as Washington, D.C. and local treks to Chicago, IL and Springfield, IL.

  • Internship opportunities with leading employers including

    • Mare Liberum

    • Federal Bureau of Investigation

    • U.S. Government Accountability Office (Information Security)

    • Central Intelligence Agency

    • Atlantic Council

    • International Institute for Strategic Studies
