Richmond Scholars Program

Sponsored by the George E. Richmond Foundation, Richmond Scholars provides financial support to students pursuing substantive summer experiences related to oral health with an understanding that oral health as inseparable from whole-person health. Scholars receive a $5,000 stipend to pursue a summer research experience or internship on topics such as dental medicine, oral health equity, and the gut microbiome. Following their summer experience, Scholars present their work at the Oral Health Symposium on campus during their first two weeks of the fall quarter.

Oral Health Symposium

October 4, 2027

All students with Summer 2027 oral health internships or research opportunities are invited to present their work at the UChicago Oral Health Symposium. The symposium brings together students, faculty, and employers to explore new ideas in oral health. Submissions from any topic connected to oral health are welcome, including (but not limited to) biological sciences, clinical practice, community health, oral health policy, and social determinants of health.
