Foreign Policy & International Relations Policy Competition

  • Students will apply the AI skills they've gained through the first two sessions in a policy proposal challenge related to U.S. foreign policy and international affairs. In teams of four, students will conduct research and develop a short presentation using AI proposing a solution to the designated topic.

  • Groups will present their proposals during the competition to a group of policy experts from the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, a leading global affairs think tank, who will provide feedback on the proposals and select the winning team!

  • The Careers in Law Legal Writing Competition invites students to adopt the role of Supreme Court clerks writing a draft opinion on a real case. Students review lower court opinions and present, individually or as a team, a written opinion and oral argument to be judged by the CIL team and law school faculty.

Geopolitics & International Trade Policy Competition

  • Students will apply the AI skills they've gained through the first two sessions in a policy proposal challenge focused on how U.S. policymakers can promote international trade and strengthen geopolitical stability. In teams of four, students will conduct research and develop a short presentation using AI proposing a solution to the designated topic. Groups will present their proposals during the competition to an employer partner, who will provide feedback on the proposals and select the winning team.

AI in Local Government Policy Competition

March 15-17, 2027

  • For this competition, students will work in teams to develop a policy proposal focused on a challenge with the development of AI and digital transformation in government and policy.

  • In small groups, students will conduct research using AI and develop a short presentation proposing a solution to the designated topic. We will be joined by an employer partner in D.C., who will provide feedback on the proposals and select the winning team.

  • This policy competition will take place as part of the Spring 2027 Washington, D.C. Policy & National Security Trek.

UChicago Impact Competition

  • UChicago’s Impact Competition is a case competition that allows students to brainstorm effective solutions for the most pressing issues affecting the communities they live in. The case competition is open to all undergraduate students. After submitting an Executive Summary, students will compete in the final round which involves in-person presentations in front of a panel of judges. We will be joined by a partner who will provide feedback on the proposals and select the winning team. This is a great opportunity to build policy research, analysis and presentation skills while networking with employer partner!
