On-Campus Arts &
Museum Internships
UChicago has world-class arts and culture institutions right here on campus! Each year, these organizations hire students for internships during both the academic year and the summer. Below are a few examples of our longstanding partners who consistently recruit interns:
Follow the Handshake Arts & Humanities Internship Collection and sign up for our weekly newsletter to get alerts about applications! Academic year positions are typically posted one quarter before the internship begins, and summer positions are typically posted in January or February.
Practitioner Program
Students work alongside leading arts and humanities practitioners - including screenwriters, artists, journalists, novelists, and more - to support the practitioner's creative projects. Students have worked with novelist Nathaniel Rich, journalist Gideon Lewis-Krause, historian Eve Fairbanks, author Lawrence Wright, comedian Tami Sagher, and more.
Please log in to your UChicago Handshake account and then follow our page here to be notified of when roles become available. You must be logged in to your Handshake account to view the page.
These roles are funded, and in the case a student self-secures an opportunity, they may apply for funding through the program’s JAMGrant application process.
