Rising Attorneys

Apply in the Spring on Handshake. Applications for the 2027-28 school year close on April 15, 2027.

The Rising Attorneys Program is dedicated to promoting the success of future law students with a special focus on students from low-income families. Open to rising third- and fourth-year students planning to apply to law school within the next five years who can commit to taking the LSAT during the next year.

Application Timeline

  • Eligibility: Rising third- and fourth-year students

  • Application Opens: March 1, 2027

  • Applications Closes: April 15, 2027

  • Offers Extended: May 1, 2027

Structure of the Program

Over the year prior to their law school application cycle, students participate in a law school prep curriculum, including sample 1L classes with UChicago Law School faculty, LSAT test prep, and law school admissions programming. The cohort meets 3-4 times per quarter.   

Workshop Dates

Fall 2026 programming includes:

  • Sample Torts class with UChicago Professor Tom Miles (October 15)

  • Sample Civil Procedure class with UChicago Professor William Hubbard (October 20)

  • Law School Application Q&A with UCLA Law School Admissions (November 12)
