Join an education-related Registered Student Organization - there are several to choose from!

At UChicago, participating in an RSO is one of the most accessible ways to start building real experience. By joining an education-focused RSO, students can:

• Get Hands-on classroom experience: Many of UChicago's education-focused RSOs partner with Chicago Public Schools and local community organizations, giving you direct tutoring, mentoring, or after-school program experience

• Explore different corners of the field: From tutoring and literacy programs to education policy discussion groups, RSOs let you sample teaching, advocacy, or research before you commit to a path

• Build relationships with Chicago's education community: Many of these RSOs work closely with local schools and nonprofits, giving you a head start on the kind of community-based experience employers in education value

• Take on real responsibility: Coordinating volunteer schedules, managing partnerships with schools, or leading programming builds the organizational and leadership skills education employers look for
