AI in the B(AY)

  • 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years are eligible.

Get experience with leading AI companies in the Bay Area during the academic year! Students will complete part-time, remote internships engaging AI technologies across industries including in tech, finance, and startups.

AI in Asia

Applications open January 4, 2027

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years are eligible.

Students will complete a summer internship in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shenzhen, or other major metropolitan hub in the region. With a focus on AI, opportunities will include roles in business, finance, technology and startups.

AI Anywhere Internship Cohort Program

Application Cycle 1 Opens December 14, 2026

Application Cycle 2 Opens April 26, 2027

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years are eligible*

Gain hands-on AI experience this summer! This ten-week program pairs an internship at a host employer with applied AI integration curriculum, giving students real-world experience applying AI tools alongside structured coursework. Students complete an applied portfolio and receive an AI integration certification upon successful completion. This program can be completed from anywhere, with coursework and internships taking place remotely.

*This foundational program is designed for students with little to no prior AI experience. Students who have already completed an AI internship or advanced computer science or data science coursework may find that portions of the curriculum overlap with their previous experience.

AI & Transformation
Internships with PwC

Applications for Academic Year Internships have closed.

Applications for Summer Internships will open in October.

UChicago is proud to partner with PWC to provide students with immersive internships with their AI and Transformation team. All selected will participate in a one-day AI bootcamp to establish foundational skills that will be utilized during the internship. Students who excel in these internships will be considered for full-time, post-graduation roles with PWC.

AI Research Grant

Applications open in Fall 2026

  • 2nd and 3rd year students eligible.

Students in any major completing summer research in the field of artificial intelligence can apply for funding to support their experience through the Artificial Intelligence Research Metcalf Grant.

This grant is designed to support students seeking AI research opportunities at external research organizations, including universities, national labs, and government agencies. Research positions at UChicago are not eligible for funding through this program.
