4+1 Scholars Summer Funding

Eligibility

In order to be eligible for 4+1 Scholars summer funding, a student must be:

  • In good academic standing

  • An enrolled student in the College

  • In their 2nd or 3rd year

  • Admitted to one (or more) 4+1 Scholars Master's Programs

  • Maintain the admissions criteria GPA for the program of admittance

Students are only eligible to receive one source of university funding per summer.

Funding Request Form & Deadline

The 4+1 Scholars Summer Funding Request form for Summer 2027 will go live February 1, 2027. The deadline to apply for Summer 2027 funding is May 5, 2027.When you fill out the 4+1 Scholars summer funding request form, you will need to provide:

  • Employer

  • Supervisor’s name, title, and contact information

  • Role title & description

  • Address of employment

  • Work structure (i.e., remote, hybrid, in-person)

  • Start & end dates

  • Hours per week

  • Total hours for the summer

  • An offer letter or email from the employer or your supervisor that includes start & end dates, total hours for the summer, and confirmation of any compensation or lack thereof

    • If you do not have an offer letter, an email from your supervisor or research advisor is also completely valid as long as it includes the above information.

Identifying a Summer Opportunity

For help with identifying internships or research projects, make an individual appointment on Handshake with a Career Advancement adviser. You are also encouraged to draw on your own personal network (professors, family, friends, etc.) for help finding a summer opportunity. Career Advancement is here to support you!
